I´m currently working in the computer game industry and i´ve been getting really interested in matte painting as well as other types of technichal illustration.
This is my first go on a matte painting, took me about 1,5 hour to finish in photoshop, below it is the original picture i found on the internet.

It’s definitely believable.
In the original image, the last tall building in the middle has a bit of fog or atmosphere compare to the ones in front of it.
It might be better to keep the same atmosphere in the matte painting.

Damn!
I was thinking about the fog on that rear building, i made some last minute fixes to some of the shadows right before posting it and i should have fixed the fog too but it slipped through it appears.

:) Overall the composition looks good, however your buildings dont seem to have much depth relative to the background. The edge around the buildings is a bit sharp and the contrast ratio between the foreground,mid-ground buildings should have some fall off. Your on the right track though, keep up the great work.
