Hello Guys!
A couple of years ago I've posted a matte painting of the ship called Gabriela. I looked at that and I decide to redo it, because it looks like a concept painting (and has a potencial).
So after I took some really great pictures of ice, snow when I went to Arctica I decide to use them.
The ship I've modelled a two years ago staus the same.
Hope you gonna like it more than the first one.
great work, though that ice formation on the ship does not look right to me, It breaks the the leading line for me across the vessel, however it is still a great piece,
Thanks guys!
I knew there will be a discussion at some point about that ice thingy. No problems.
But when I was working on it I was thinking at the same way like Matty said: nature is random, lets kee that ice in there :)))
Thanks guys again, really appreciate your time!
i like the sky a lot :) A bit of nitpicking: The persian buildings seem too monochromatic and lifeless - it is know that persians had a lot of greenery (bushes, ivy, trees) and also lots of vivid colors; Also the houses seem very dirty, like after a war....persians were veeeery clean :)

Suirebit - thanks for the crit and the points, really appreciate that! :)
-but I've been going more for present than past and I didn't want to put some people over there and/or some birds or something like that,, just because me and very good friends of mine, we're going to do a pos-production of it :)
-but really appreciate your comment man!
If it's something from present then the dirt is ok; I assumed you tried to recreate the past, since there's no Persia nowadays :)
By lifeless I didn't refer to people or birds or whatever moving element - I meant plants. I still think you need some foreground plants/trees, even if they are ruins :) Maybe some overgrown ivy? I was also referring to adding more colors, or at least some variation between the shade of highlights and shadows, since right now everything feels very monochromatic.
I would also reconsider some of the architecture, which is more greek or roman than persian :)
