Ou btw: I forgot reply :))
-so Pavel, yes, I know it is saturated, and a bit dark, I wanted go for something with something more crazy, more color, and stuff. And that sketch, just for fun and to practice, get off of the DMP for 2 evenings :)
It was just a flick, relax, after work :) just fun! But I agree with you.
-secretpixel, thanks

next time I'll come with some cityscape, I have that mood now. And some invisible dmp as well.

Looks great ! Always a pleasure to look at nice rocks :)
Can you tell us more about your approach on this one. Some steps maybe or some of the photos you've used. I hope my curiosity is not to much :)

btw: your imdb resume is becoming really nice ! Congratulations !

Thyn, thank you my man, btw; you should use avatar, you have on cgtalk-looks better, hehe :)))
yeah, I can say some words, sure..
I went to Tenerife for a longer weekend, to take a references of the volcano and coast lava rocks, cliffs etc. Really amazing place to go for!! And heavy for walk! :) So I took a 100's of good references for that kind of stuff.
I put some of them together and idea has been made :)
after that just paint some shapes over it, to do a concept and just work on it.
I cannot put my ref just like that in high res, coz it cost me my money, time and effort to went there, but you better just google it. Tenerife, Los Gigantes, Maska.
Of course, from google images are almost never the ones you need(angle, light etc.) so better just to go there and take a 100's of high res pics for yourself as you need, as you like :)

Man, you are one of the best at this business. Love seeing your work. I keep going back to them over and over again to study the detail.

Out of curiosity, how long have you been doing this and what is your artistic background?

thanks guys!
Ventana-I've been doing this (DMP) for 4.years if I count also my beginning where I've been suck! :)
Background? Modeler, Animator for games and commercials, than move to film as DMP, concept artist and Zbrush Sculptor for feature animation film(doing rocks, cliffs for over 2 years-I love Zbrush) :)
--thank you, very nice compliment, but I don't think I am the best, there are many soo great DMP artists I've been working with and they don't even have a website, they don't post their work online :) but thank you very much! :)
Aharnett - thank you, yeah the edges are very tricky, I agree :)
