Default Storm Castle - 08-09-2008, 03:32 AM

Finally this piece is 'done'; minor changes and fixes aside I thought it'd be high time to wrap this one up. It's the first painting I really sat down for and took the time to lift it beyond a speed painting or a half completed matte. I appreciate all the comments and criticism I received on this work in the WIP thread, it helped me out a lot. The original size of this piece is 6400x4200 but I don't want to make all of your browsers crash.

This has a beautiful atmosphere and colour pallette. It has come a long was, so congrats for sticking with it. For me the foreground and castle are looking fine, but id work on the distant stuff coz it still feels too sketchy and quite flat. The light beams in the sky aren't working either they are too harsh and need a serious blur.

Good stuff

Your Castle looks really cool, nice colours and atmosphere.
Sunlight beams should really be more parallel from looking at my photographs, but hey great image!

I squint to see distant objects.
