Default Stockholm incident - 02-16-2008, 06:56 AM

I recently watched Cloverfield , really cool movie! and so that inspirerred me to do a "cloverfield" of my own ;) this is not the original monster but was inspirrered by it. So i took some parts that i liked, and redesigned it. I am mainly thinking of its legs.

After that it was just alot of painting of destruction and mayhem on stockholm hehe:)
I would think storywise that this concept could be connected with another painting i did not too long ago. Concerning the arrival of this monster.

Brilliant; only a pity that monster hasn't got round to destroying that ugly 60s icon/sculpture clunky light piller or whatever people what to call it- can't you smash it - even just a little ?

yea- Slussen interchange; wreak it- the whole city will thank you.

you know I went to the exhibition of young up-coming artists the other day on Djurgarden and really it was just rubbish- my thoughts were the matte-painters and 3d artist really to step up and start exhibiting- thats where all the real artists live these days.

Always fun to see your hometown i ruins  ! I'm a big destruction-fan (doesn't sound too sane does it?) so these type of mattes are great. I have a 30% finished post-destruction matte of Zinkensdamms Stadium. Never seem to have the time to finish it (or anything else for that matter).

I really like the bottom one but the top one looks a bit rushed. The textures look too pasted (especially the rubble on the square and the left railing-thing) Also I think the center monument (Edvin Öhrströms "Kristall - vertikal accent i glas och stål" if anyone's interested :P ) is a bit dark and seem to be too unaffected by the dust and debris from the buildings behind it.

I think you should also mess up the buses and cars to the left where the monster has had a bit of a rampage.

The most impressive deed of the monster though is that he carefully removed the "SEB"-logo and mirrored the letters and put it back :D
Why did you mirror it by the way?

With one more pass I think this will be great! Toppenbra jobbat!
