Default my firts matte - 11-02-2004, 08:27 PM

Hi, first I don`t speak english, so i now that i will write some tingh veary wrong :oops:

Well, I was in a ballet sow wen i had the idea to do mi first matte, I now, I now, is a long way and I realy wan to learn more, so pleas tellme if tou like it o not or wat can I do to improbe.

I used photoshop, Max and after effects for the final composition.

To me, it looks flat.
Try to add some atmospheres to give it more depth.

I love the tones though, i don't know what it is, but it feels very rich, like a old masters painting.

well, yes, is a little flat, but is a 15 seconds shot with a camera pan and you can see the motion of the clouds and the deep of the castle, but you are rigth.

I keep working and studing :D

If someone can tell me what can I do to be better... :)

I agree - it does look like an old master's painting. Has that awesome old feel like an old testament film from the 1950's when matte paintings where a well-kept secret.
Which is the final comp? Juding by the bottom one, I think it looks fine. Depending what you're trying to put across. Maybe improve on the depth of field if you wanted to. I wouldn't be too fussed.

I think you need to give more sense of depth to the environment, now the image look so flat, it's difficult to assign the distance to the various level of depth. Concerned the colours i think it depend to the effect you choose to obtain.
