Default Castle Dracula - 10-30-2004, 10:56 PM

Hello all. this is one of my first posts here, (been lurking for a couple of months now though). Its nice to see the boards getting active and a lot of great talent turning up.

Here is a piece i did this week for halloween. It took about 5 nights to complete. It was painted in photoshop at 3000 pixels and then revised at about 1500. You can view the original sketch and a detail here http://www.brentoncottman.com/siteIm...culaSketch.htm

feel free to comment.
thanks
Brenton

Nice job, I really like this.
The only thing is that the over size trees in the right down part of the image, somehow make me confuse about the size of the buildings beside it.

Great work, Brenton. I like it a lot, but there's just one thing I think you could work on is to detail more the castle.

Wow really nice work! I like the colors a lot, it's different from what we usually see for matte paintings I think!

Thanks for the comments. I see what you are saying about the trees alik. I neglected that area a bit because I was going to crop it up to a 2.35 aspect ratio but decided to leave it. Thanks for pointing it out I will change it. ChristianM, I have a detail of the castle if you follow the link above. Is there a particular area that needed work? I wanted to keep it a silouetted shape but still tried to give it some detail. Horg I am glad you like the colors. it was hard to get much color in and have a believable night shot. I managed to get some color in but it is still rather monochromatic.

thanks again.
