Default LATEST MATTE PAINTING - 10-16-2004, 06:02 PM

Hi guys there you go, a just finished 100% photoshop , matte painting, I did this one whit over 70 photos I found all over the net( niagara falls. iguazu falls in brasil, mosque's in turkey and in jerusalen ) it took me a month to finish in my spare time, let me know what you think.

hey guys I just did some changes to the image thanks to the comments you've done I painted some perspective over some buildings to better match the scene I added a little more painted details over the front tower and I put a haze to the top of the image to make it look moody ,I painted some highlits to the buildins and if you see the back buildings have now some color over them , also I added a little film grain to it I think it looks better what do you think?

Thats just amazing...

You got so much drama and storytelling in your images... if you told me this was for starwars 3 i would believe it... the quality is that high... cool!

Could you btw give us a little 'making of' of how you chose your elements and how you made the composition...

hey james, nice one.
I think there are some problems with the light matching though...There's something that bothers my eye but I can't really tell what it is.
Good job anyway ;)

ya I love the style, about the light thing that Max mentioned I think the left buildings/temples is lit differently from the clouds and rest of the pictures that's why.

It seems they are being lit more from the front where as the clouds and other buildings indicate they light from back more. Also those buildings have much more saturation in color compared to the further buildings covered in mist, maybe can lower the left buildings saturation or higher the far back ones too?

Other than that it's great! I love the waterfalls =)

thanks for your feedbak guys , I did this still from scratch whit lots of photos, some of them inspired me to do the mood , particulary the saturation and depth control is taken from photo reference and of course I always add my touch in each matte painting ( not precisly photorealistic ) but it has to do more whit art, feeling , etc ) I will show some expamples photos which helped me building this ( this are just a few photos tha help me whit the main buildings and falls details )
