which softwares would recomend?

Default which softwares would recomend? - 06-04-2014, 09:30 PM

i am a vfx student and i want to do 3d matte painting but dont know what one to use, is there any you all could recommend would mean a lot. i dont have matte painting till next quarter

also i dont have nuke at home, so are there any other recommendations that would work just as well.

If you mean full CG enviornments then Maya could be a good choice as it is popular among many studios. For 2.5D and projection worlflow you could try Nuke / Mari combination. Cinema 4D is also worth considering with it's Projection Man toolset but I believe not many big studios use it.

I believe most of these softwares you can download their personal learning editions for free.

Clarisse IFX is also a top choice being used by studios world wide.

Isotropix

Apparently it loads quite a bit of instanced geometry without choking.
