So far this is looking amazing! Building the entirely in 3D must be a real challenge I guess (especially with grass and other vegetation)
I like the attention you are paying to your composition and lighting setup. Your CG assets are looking great as well.
Will you be adding more details to the sky as well?
Can't wait to see the final piece :)

Keep up!

Pedro.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your nice comments, I appreciate it! That project I most likely won't finish, at least not now. I made it primarily as a 3D exercise, and to be honest I'm not really happy with how it turned out. I learned a lot though!

@rockhoppermedia,
I went back and fixed what you suggested and it worked much better, thank you!

@KAMINARIVFX
What I posted was more or less raw renders, no touch-ups/DMP added whatsoever, so my plan was to do a full DMP of this- adding proper mountains/sky and making the CG look overall better.

So, here is another personal project of mine that I work on whenever I have some spare time/energy. The current state is very WIP. It's more of a "concept dmp"/practice. I'm going to project it and experiment with that a bit. I am going for a "Hobbit-ish"/fantasy feel.

The castle is at the moment just a raw render, I have not yet done anything to it. I am working on a new look dev on the castle as well, since there are some obvious (texture) issues that I just want to quickly address.

In the final comp I am going to make the lights inside the castle flicker lightly and add some fog that the camera moves through, and just generally experiment with stuff.

The first image is the DMP piped through my rough slap comp script.
Second one is just my AO render, nothing fancy really- super simple geo.

As always, comments and critique is more than welcome.

Many thanks,

-Alexander Isaksson

Hey guys,

Just wanted to post another update on this concept/experiment DMP. Update is: new castle render with some rough PS work and general tweaks, and playing around with the slap comp.

There's going to be tons of tweaks in the comp but I just wanted to show you so you get the idea.

Next step is to finish the main DMP & patch DMP, make new snow FX (less and calmer) and then finalize everything.

I also forgot to mention earlier that this project is sort off a remake on one of my older DMPs that I don't think I ever published here. I made it roughly a year ago, I believe. I was never really happy with it but I thought it had some potential to be better, hence I'm doing a remake now.
It can be seen below.

As always, feedback is more than welcome.

Many thanks,

Alexander Isaksson

Thank you kaustavsinha :)

Below is an updated WIP of the dmp. This project I worked on on my spare time. Started it ages ago and I wanted to move on so I made some tweaks in comp and now calling it "done". Still a lot of stuff to fix.

Thanks for looking,
-Alexander I
