Hi all ,

This is my third matte painting.
I'm intending to replace the middle with some kind of a city behind those walls,
replace street floor with bricks and maybe at far end of the city place a port with ships.

Tell me what you think ? any c&c are welcome

I think this painting would benefit enormously from a bit more research into perspective construction. In this case, single-point perspective (which is also the easiest to understand).

All the receding lines should converge to a single vanishing point in the far distance, right on the horizon.





Unfortunately, you can't simply clone the arch to the left and right without altering the perspective, as you now have three vanishing points instead of one.

Hi alex ,

I think i'm starting to understand what you are saying , i can see now that i have 3 arches all pointing to a different direction.
I thought i only needed to change the upper most arch but now i see that all lines inside the arch itself (the part between the upper arch and the lower) are also need to be alter to a one point in the horizon.

Thanks for the help i guess i needed to do a bit more research on that , i will post an update soon.
