A more conceptual approach to painting a fantasy landscape. I tried to achieve a balance between detailed and rough areas, where the brushstrokes are still visible.
Inspired by the amazing rocky formations found in Utah's National Parks. I've never been there but it must be something amazing to behold.

really nice - loving the colors, and i have to agree that a matte painting which somehow still keeps brush strokes is something to aspire to......althought this is more concept than matte - i get what you meant - or were trying to achieve.....thumbsup.

To the admin (or whoever is selecting work for the gallery): There are some concepts in the Sketch board that are as photo real as this one (if not more photo real in some cases), and as interesting, why are Andreas' concepts being added and not others?

Another gorgeous painting Andreas. The contrasting warms and cools work really well in this one. I like the atmosphere down in the bottom left of the image too.
