I don't have a problem with the converging verticals so long as the perspective is carried through the entire composition. At present, I think the boat needs tweaking as its perspective doesn't match...

Better, but the light on the lighthouse is all wrong. If it is a cylindrical form and the light is from the sun you should expect to see a vrtually straight, vertical border between top and bottom....

I would argue that looking "real" is too narrow a definition of what a matte painting should be, one very notable exception being Sin City.
