try using gradients in photoshop with 10%-to 0% (less opacity).
and you can use diffenrent layerstyles ... just play with that (color dodge, linear dodge, etc.).

good job, but i think you made some mistakes with your shadows from the towers falling to the grass and the "road".
first its too blurry and second the shadow direction isn't matching the direction...

i would use a max width, about 1024px. thats enough to to see it in good quality.
