Hi everyone,
little time so far, but here's some color sketching and a pencil drawing... Cheers Stephan |

For this alien planet I'll try to go away from water clouds to something more like jupiters clouds and give the three swirls a realistic movement. On this image
Foreground to Background values get more defined. |

The first painted clouds work nicely with previous subsurface scatter layers.

because clouds are organic, translucent and dynamic, I'm sure painting is the only way, except your extremely good in programming shaders. For now I'm quite content with the mockup of layers and will put my energy on the weekend into detailing and refining the scene. Properly done, this attempt can beat all foto-stitching techniques, which have issues with light shining from underneath and dynamics between elements.

hope there's enough time this week to finish the cloud detail and the ground material...to grade down the middle cloud layer was an unexpected breakthrough today...

With a broken RAM-memory and a lack of time, there was unfortunately no way of finishing this, but I wish everyone out there good luck!
