http://i56.tinypic.com/1548r4o.jpg

Hi Everyone, :)

I am going to launch an online school of Digital Matte-Painting, known as the 'Matte-Effect School of Visual Effects'; the Instructor is going to be the world-renowned Digital Matte-Painter, Jessy Veilleux (founder of the digital environment studio, Meduzarts). Jessy has worked in blockbuster Hollywood feature films such as '300', 'Sin City', 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow', 'The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D' and many more...; he has also worked in renowned video games such as the 'Prince of Persia : The Two Thrones', 'Assassin's Creed', 'Avatar' and 'Assassin's Creed II'.

The course is specially geared towards the beginners; at the end of the course, the students will have a demo-reel prepared and those who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the school.

The course fee is US$ 500. Seats are limited, so hurry!

Visit the school website : www.cguniverse.net/school

To register for the course e-mail us at : admissions@matte-effect.com

Thanks,
Kaustav

I'm not a potential candidate for your course, but I did notice that your website is almost entirely lacking in details. If I was going to part with a considerable sum of money for an online course, I'd want to know what I'm getting.

How long is it? What is it going to cover? How much time do I need to spend on it? How many hours of tuition can I expect? What equipment / software will I need?

If you've got something new to being to a (very oversaturated) market like this, you need to explain what that 'new' thing is.

I'm not slamming your course in any way - I don't know anything about it, and nor do any of your potential students. It could be an awesome opportunity for someone, in which case it is a shame you aren't explaining it very well.

Best of luck with your endeavour

AJ

Can this course supply credits for other university courses for a final qualification. At the moment it seems that you cant get past HR without a university qualification. which is why unfortunately I wont be doing this course, if this counts towards credits it would be good.

Best of luck with it anyhow.

Hi Richard, :)

At present, we are not offering credits for other university courses; but, I am trying for it! But, the course will have very good contents in it and the students will gain a-lot of knowledge from it for sure! :)

Thanks,
Kaustav

I guarantee you can get past HR without a degree or qualification from university. Most definitely. It's all based on your portfolio and skill level.

Yep.

It's all about the portfolio. I've never been asked what kind of schooling I've had.
