I worked on the show and you have to read between the lines a little to get the full story.

There's some truly great work in the series, but the whole production/post-production was a bit more... complicated than it might have been.

Hello Steve,

Do you have access to larger images of the Rome composite / matte shots? If so, can you post them?

Recreating ancient cities is a great use application of matte shots.

How were you involved with the production? (If you don't mind me asking?)

Sorry, no I don't have any access to the shots, and I wouldn't be able to post them without HBO's permission before the show hits DVD.

My job on 'Rome' was compositing but I was lucky enough to see a lot of other people in 3D and matte painting do their work too.
