hi everybody , well after my glaciar base I wanted to do the opposite to that image , so I came up whit the idea of an underground refinery , sci fi, and lava, this is a personal matte for my portafolio, I will have soon my web page on line , thanks people.
some of the refinery parts ( foreground ) are 3d assets done in
3ds max, the whole painting was done and composited in photoshop

Nice color palette and textures. I really like the tech (pipes, tanks, ect) you chose. Good integration of 3D.
How long did you work on this?
Looking forward to seeing your online portfolio!

hey guys thanks for your comments, it was a really hard palette, cause I wanted those colors to blend in one picture, but I had fun just experimenting whit the right color values,
it took me about 2 weeks to complete , since the sketch ,3d modeling , to the final matte painting.
Mdalaran I've seen your matte paintings and I find them really good keep up the good work :P

wow really nice work. i really like the composition and structures. the lighting is also very nice, and the blue background contrasts nicely with the orange foreground. Only crit i have is that the actual lava doesnt really feel as realistic as the rest. there chould maybe be some more contrast in it? Some darker spots here and there. Keep it up!

you do nice work. My only question is how do you find time to do your own stuff? As a professional, I'm constantly working on someones project. And what time I do have. I spend with friends..I usually only have the weekend to do anything for myself. I do need human interaction, some assemblance of a social life..I'm impressed with your painting, but more impressed that you have time to work on your own stuff to that degree of quality. How long did that take?..

hey guys thanks for your words and advices
well Jsbaxter I always have time to do my stuff, unfortunaly in mexico there are not to many productions as in the US or other countries, that's why I may have a proffesional project one in two months or less it depends, eventhough if I'm busy at work I try to relax myself thinking in other personal projects , that keep me alive and of course letting my mind rest from the preassure and hard clients, this painting took about 3 weeks to complete, and usually I have all weekends for my friends being or not being working in a profesional duty  :D , but hey I would love to be busy all days of the year so if you know something please hire me or recomend me :P
