I have no matte painting experience and was thinking of getting into it. Which graphic tablet do you recommend for a beginner? Not looking for anything super pricey.

So far I've been looking at these:

Wacom Bamboo Fun Medium $209
Wacom Intuos4 Small $275
Wacom Intuos3 Small $199

I know the Intuos4 is more powerful but it's small, compared to medium Bamboo Fun. Was wondering if it's worth it to go Intuos4 if I'm only a beginner.

Thanks.

I'd say Intuos 3. High quality and low price ;) .

I really do recommend taking the time and saving up for a good tablet. It will last for a good while. Personally, I went with a 6x8 Intuos3. The pad is large enough to give me a fine deal of accuracy while still being small enough to fit into my laptop bag. The Intuos pens are also more comfortable than the Bamboo ones...and when you're spending those long hours on the computer, it really does make a difference!

New, $239.99 on Amazon.

I have an Intuos 3 and love it. I got the widescreen one since it matches my monitor. But those new intuos look really nice too.

I have to agree with everything that's been said already. I got my Intuos 3 6x11 off ebay. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT and can REALLY tell the difference between that and my old graphire 4. The bamboo is better than a graphire but really....GET AN INTUOS

I think the Vibes looks the best. I have a NeoTouch and am satisfied with it, but I wouldnt say its the best case. I agree with you, the draw to the Touchlite was definitely the mirrored screen, I was gonna buy one.
