I took one of the ideas into photoshop, a bit to detailed maybe for a concept sketch... planing to do another 2 of the ideas before matte painting one of them.

Hey theuni,

I like your palette, composition, and concept. Simple...but very strong. IMHO, incorporating that tunnel from (sketch #6?) could dramatically add to the compositional strength of the piece. Also, have you considered adding a roadsign? Like one of those yellow-diamond "Winding Roads."

Thanks Angus for the kind comment... don`t really know but maybe I go for that tunnel idea in my last road sketch I will do. A road sign is definitely a good idea for all the concept sketches.
I´ll throw some more details into the final sketch I`ll choose from one of the 3 concepts.

Well here is Nr. 2, maybe the warm weather here at the moment or the bad display of my laptop I am forced to use the next 2 weeks instead of my TFT Monitor, turn this one out to be
a snow typ of scenery.

Cool. I really do think it adds SO much more depth.

A note about proportions here though...(I feel like I'm just picking your painting to death.) The little grass patches and the tunnel make those mountains look rather small. Are those hills? Or mountains?

@angus, thx man but I personally dont really like the version with the tunnel much. Yeah and you`re right... I got a little problem with the scale of certain elements in it.
Hope u like the one with the bridge ;) Can`t get to the next step, taking these sketches into a matte painting project. It`s to much fun at the moment doing these "speed paintings" ;)

Hahaha! Well you're by no means required to follow my suggestions with YOUR paintings. Thanks for humoring me with the tunnel, though. =^J

I DO like that bridge. The mountains look scaled properly, too! Atmospheric perspective plays out very well here.
