Hy everybody,

I'm new in the art of matte-painting so I decide to post my work here in order to have some help from big artists i saw on this forum.
First of all, I'm french so I hope you'll excuse my bad english when I'll write. Don't worry, I read and understand much more than I write ^^ So you can have fun with critics & comments.
I'm actually student in Tunisia and I'll make this paint from a photo I took from the window of my home.
This is now only painted over the original picture.

ps: Thanks to my friend Sad for his original guetto style ^^

Hey yolaf,

I'm not one of the big artists (yet), but here are my thoughts.
My one big issue is that the buildings are lit almost the same as in your original photo; blue-ish light comeing from behind the camera.
In the matte, the sun is more orange-ish, and in front of the camera.
And that's where my critique ends. I like where the picture is going.

Some ideas:
Those clouds you put in are great. Lots of clouds mean you have an excuse to put dark areas in the background, and highlight the parts where you want the eye to go.
Add color to the buildings. When you look at your original photo, you can see some brown and grey buildings. These can add some variety to your picture.
Also, this (http://www.dylancolestudio.com/sketches/pages/HaloConcept1.html) might inspire you.

Thanks for the ideas and the reference link. This is exactly waht I need^^
I try to change the overall blue-ish color with curves adjustements but it seem to be really not enough.
Like you saw, I'm a little shy with color variation and I think it's one of my big problem in all of my concept art and matte-painting so I will try work on it.
