Hey guys,

wondering if anyone can answer my question. I'm doing a projection in Maya,
using my camera to project a texture onto an object - I'm using High Quality display
but the texture LOOKS garbled, and I'm looking at the object through my renderable
camera - when I render, it's absolutely fine....

I'm wondering if it's a video card issue - I have all resolutions set to high quality
I appreciate any assistance.

cheers

Jim

Hey Jim,

I dont use maya but I know how to fix it in c4d maybe it may apply to maya as well.

The object your placing the texture on has to have alot of subdivision in order for it to look 100% in the viewport. Placing a HQ image on a plane will look low quality but if u make that plane 60x60 segments it will look better. Also in c4d if I clikc on a material in my material browser I get a setting to change the viewport display settings. It gives me options from like 512 res up to 4k. Hope this helps a bit.

thanks anyway man,

I figured it out - I had combined intersecting objects loosely - my projection cam didn't like it and was trying to project onto a bunch of different geo faces - I just seperated the objects again and it worked fine.
