Hi there,
these are pictures from the feature Film "Sundust" - an apocalyptical lovestory.
After a plane carrying biological weapons crashed close to a little village on the coastline, most of its inhabitants died.

I was inspired by the big blackout in Canada and the US in 2004. I
witnessed the incident by chance, visiting Toronto at that time. The
entire city was pitchblack. Except for a few single headlights, I feeled
surrounded by a ghost city.
Based on that experience, for Sundust we created a "dying city",
withering like a plant. The upper floors of the skyscrapers has already
faded, only the lower parts are still filled with live.

The colour range and lighting of the shots are more real than they might
appear at first sight. The reference material came from a fotoshooting
in Shanghai.

Hope you like them,
with best regards,
Sven

The images look really convincing, great way of getting the mood and atmosphere across. Is there a short version of the top image that we can see in motion?

Wow, really impressive stuff. I particularly like the second shot, you really get a sense of scale. Very inspiring.

I agree with above. Great mattes!

But why did you post it to the wip section, why not to the artistic showcase?

I really love the second shot. Would it be possible to post larger versions of the smaller images, they also look really impressive but I can't, unfortunately, really seem them in detail at the moment. :) Supurb job though, you've really placed that shot perfectly, it looks very natural and convincing.

Hi Sven,

great job as always. Seems like doomsday scenarios are very popular in these times ;-) Even I couldn't resist to do one. Nice to make a half intact skyline with still some light working. Thanks for sharing.

Beste Grüße aus Frankfurt/Main,
Jack
