Hio all,

This is a combination of my old matte painting with bluescreen footage I shot. Some of you have already seen the matte painting posted on cgtalk.com or our very own mattepainting.org last year, but here's the final composite with whatI did for final project in Shake.

Matte painting built in Photoshop and After Effects, particles (leaves and waterfall) done in Maya, keying/final composite in Shake.

I really liked how my teachers gave me complete creative freedom over this project, thx to them! As artists I think that is important to make your own world, by directing and conceptualizing your work to better improve yourself.

Story:

"As he wanders through time, and the great dark forest, he stumbles upon an ancient temple bathed in ageless light and beauty. He stands there awestruck for moments as the sun begins to set, as the leaves rustle and fall down in a serendipitous moment of peace. Profound knowledge is sure to be seen in that off shore temple, and much is to be discovered."

I still like the animation.
Sometimes a good animation and composition makes the matte painting twice better.
I think you have used it well in this shot.
