hiya.

this is my second foray into matte painting, based on that castle picture that someone posted on this forum (sorry, I can't seem to find the thread again). It's still WIP; comments and critiques are very welcome. I'm doing it on a laptop, so the brightness and / or colours may be a bit off (but feel free to rip me to shreds for it anyways) =)

all the best

It does look good.
I like the atmosphere and the cloud.

By the way you have some interesting stuff in your web site.

I saw your website too,
You have a mixture of some really good and some weak (or maybe old) works in your site.
It might be a good idea to make a separate section in your site specifically for your best works only.

Also,
You can post your matte painting tutorial in the “Article Section” here:
http://www.mattepainting.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=25
Which will be promoted in the front page.

You're right, there's a huge amount of poor and old stuff on there - I'm glad you like the newer stuff though!
I have been thinking about cleaning it up for a couple of months, but it's not really been a portfolio site as much as a dumpsite (for pretty much everything I've done since 1998-99 or so). Maybe the time has come to take a long, hard look at everything and clean it up + maybe make it a bit more professional looking.

I've posted the matte tutorial as you suggested. Thanks for the encouragement - I'm getting increasingly interested in working in movies either as a texture painter or a matte artist. I'm unsure as to how strong my art skills are compared to other artists in this industry, though - and my portfolio of mattes is non-existent, so I guess I'll have to work at it. (Discovering this site was a godsend)
