I have been an observer of this site for quite some time now but just never got around to joining or posting any of my work. On that note i hope this post comes out ok.
I have been matte painting for almost a year now ( off and on between other school projects) and enjoy it immensely. I am just about finished with this piece. Just thought i would submit to see what you guys think .

It does look wonderful. But it doesn't look finished.

when it's finished, it will be an awesome piece, but needs a lot of work.

It looks great! Cool concept and composition. I would however love see a lot more atmosphere, light rays and stuff. And also I think it needs to darker.
Have you tried checking out cave photos and stuff like that to see how a real camera lense would behave in this sort of environment?

Keep working, it's going to be great

Hey!
I love the layout of your matte mate. I've updated it a little to point out a few areas that help lift it a little. Mostly I found the lighting to be a little flat, which was removing the sense of depth and atmosphere from your piece. I've updated this and here's the results :) Sometimes less is more :)

Hey moakley,

Thanks for the input, the lighting looks much better then my original. I agree the lighting was a bit flat in my piece. Have not been able to get back to the piece for a few weeks know but ill be getting back to it tommorow.

Thanks again!!
