I also did a painting for school along with B.Kachel and Jared*Simeth.
I helped b.kachel pull the key on his footage and in the process i decided to do a painting for the plate because, i keyed it so i figure i should use it.
Any comments and criticism is greatly appriciated!

I think the lower part of the main building needs some fleshing out. The windows in particular look a little unnatural. I also think the problem is the architecture on the top is very distinct and should really be carried throughout the rest of the form. or change the top to something more modern to work better with the bottom.
I think that the layout of the skyline also feels a little unnatural. skyscrapers tend to build up in clusters and yours are sort of free standing. some of what you have going on at ground level looks interesting however I cant really see it from this resolution.
the lighting and exposure seem pretty good.
hope that is a help

Hey Pat,
I think if you start the build up of your buildinings where the large ones begin that will help. Also another problem is that the large buildings are right at the bay, wich is somewhat awkward. You could try replacing the water with more land or move them back.

Hey Brandon,
I brought home my painting and opened it and looked at it and yes it does look wierd with the buildings so close to the water, i dont know what i was thinking! Im pushing the land out a bit farther and i added a larger city.
