View Full Version : apartment hallway

Hi everybody. After long hours of looking at all the cool paintings I finally made some sort of matte painting of my own.
It's not completely finished yet, some details need to be adjusted but I would very much appreciate constructive feedback.

Some really nice work!
The only glaring fault I see is the way the hallway narrows so drastically just past the door. Unless it's vanishing into infinity about 15 feet further down the hall, you would not see the floor taper that dramatically.
Really really nice job on the lighting and the peeling paint!

Thanks for the comment.
The vanishing point does seem a bit close. I'll adjust it a little bit but I 'm going for a kind of warped look so I don't want to lose it completely. Looking at it for so long I lose my judgement about this stuff a bit.

I think the VP is okay, it is where it is. I think the visual problem is that the perspective for the door doesn't match that for the floor i.e. you have different VP's for the floor and the panels on the door. If you fix the discrepancy this should start to help.

I changed the VP slighty and the door. I also got rid of the lens flare.
I'm pretty happy with it now.
