Hi Everyone,
these are matte paintings and background-images for the Perry-Rhodan adventure game. I´ve create more than 40 ingame-images for a dark, abandoned mine on a lost planet.
Best regards, Sven

Nice job sven!
Do you start most of your paintings with a 3d rendering?
For instance.. the pipes in the 2nd to last post, are they 3d with texture, or photo?

Hi sdinozzi,
90% of these paintings are in 2D. After finishing of the shot, we start building transparent plattforms in 3D to create walking-plattforms for the characters.

Hi Suirebit,

Hello Sven ! You really did some lovely work on these shots.
What i like the most is the mood you managed to set up.

Do you have one of these you could show in the different stages. I would love to see.

Hi Trueenough,
there is a small making of in 6 steps on the following site:
http://sven-sauer.deviantart.com/
it´s not one of the Gom Calledus-Shots, and we have used a 3D-modelling too - but hopefully, it will show you, how I work.
With best regards, Sven

Hi there,
I put the in-game-shots on the server. So you can watch some paintings in motion.
With best regards, Sven
