Hi everyone
As im sure a lot of you know, D'Artiste Matte Painting 2 will be coming out soon, and they are calling for entries. They have another stunning autor line up for this title, im sure the book will be a massive success.
Just wondering if anyone has, or is, putting forward an entry for the book? Im sure there is some talent on here that could get in if they put an entry forward. Would be cool to see some of my friends here with their work published in such a well respected place :D

Hi Folks,
I plan to submit some of my stuff too. But, I just wonder how do You post MPs without showing what you made on it? I mean, in case I post invisible mp, how' in the world is anyone gonna know what's mine and what is the original?
Thanks for helping out,
Khan

Hi there,
Paul Hellard here. I'm the Assistant Editor at Ballistic Publishing. In answer to your question about original plates, no original plate is required with your submission. I'd really love to see more tremendous Matte Paintings being submitted into our system, HERE. (http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/books/dartiste/matte_painting_2/callforentries/index.php)
Images can be created in any application. We are interested in digitally created artwork whether it be for commercial use, or personal satisfaction. There is no problem in entering professional work that is really all yours (you must have clearance from the 'client' for you to enter it).
There is no cost or limit to enter work for inclusion in 'd’artiste: Matte Painting 2'. Artists with work published in the book will receive a complementary copy of the book and will enjoy worldwide exposure in the premier collection of digital matte painting creations.
Hi Paul,
As always, You are such a help.
Thank You very much,
Khan

I think this book is gonna be great too! Im very excited about the release! Max Dennison and Dusso are both incredibly talented, and you cant help but be blown away by their work. I went out and bought the 'Art of the LOTR' books recently, and their work in there was incredible, plus Yanick's work on the gnomon dvds of course. Im not familiar with Chris Thunig, but he has some great cerdits to his name, so im sure there will be no disappointment there either. I cant wait to see if there is some of his work from Kingdom of Heaven or Troy, coz i loved the look of those desert landscapes! Anybody know of anywhere i can see any of Chris Thunig's work online?

Hey Pascal,
this is not a contest. Anyone can submit work, and if they like it, it will be printed in the books.
The advantage is that you can have your work sharing the same pages as the Worldwide Masters. That's a huge prize.
My advice for you guys is to submit your artwork exactly like they request. I believe they might cry a lot while choosing what gets to enter and what doesn't because, there must be amazing artwork that fail to follow their directives and although its great they cannot put it into the book for technical reasons.
Maybe Paul Hellard is out there reading this message... and would share some thoughts with us in this matter.
I would also like to give an idea to Paul. Since this book is about mattepainting, and most of it is animated, would it be very difficult to include a DVD with the book, with the animated versions of the book artwork?
It would not be mandatory for all entries to have both versions, but from what I can tell from visiting this forum everyday there are many amazing mattes that would certainly make a awesome DVD.
Kind regards,
Ricardo.
