This was an attempt to create an environment using digital photos and piecing them together in Photoshop. Roughly 10 photographs were used for the basic layout and then I painted in the details and played with the lighting. The end goal will be to take this painting and project onto 3d geometry and use it for a short I'm currently working on.

Good matte painting
I suggest fixing the horizon matte line to blend the sky, same as the original plate. Also orange highlights instead of white.
