A Time of War

Hi there!

This is my first try at matte painting.
Lately some movies (Van Helsing and Riddick for example) and "especially" this Forum really inspired me to start trying.

I do not have an art background but I thought I can judge lights, shadows and color composition well enough to at least give it a try :)
I do work as a Web Developer, usually coding applications, and sometimes I can do some graphics stuff at work. Thats how I got my Photoshop knowledge.

I failed horribly when I first tried painting pictures from scratch after I bought my Wacom Tablet which I then never touched again until now...

This took about 12 hours. Critics very welcome :)

Yes the lighting is quite good. I like the action too that's happening in the piece. Good start.
