Hi All,

I'm considering getting the d’artiste Matte painting book and was wondering if anyone could recommend it. Is it any good?

Its awesome for getting inspiration. Its not a tutorial book or something like this.

I have it, and I'm getting inspiration from it all the time.
It's great.

I think it is very important.

I wouldn't call it inspiring. I use it to see what mistakes are allowed to be made on professional quality paints, and what level of detail is considered as professional level.

Currently the Mattepaint starter kit consists of:

- Ballistic Publishing "D'artist MattePaint"
- ChronicleBooks "The Invisible Art"
- GnomonWorkshop "Dylan Cole DVD's"
- GnomonWorkshop "Dusso DVD's"

if you have these, you have everything you need to start with. Everything else, is available on the forums, either this one or many others of similar subject.

Ricardo thanks for the "starter kit" suggestion!
