This is a beautiful piece - loaded with style and a real sense of cinematic, dramatic lighting. The thing I like most about it, however, is despite the illustrative sense of drama, it still feels like a real shot.

I personally think that the castle is to sharp.
But i have no idea on how to make it like more integrated...

Great picture. I Like it a lot.

I did notice something though that didn't seem to be right: The fire on the castle.
While it looks quite realistic I think that fire wouldn't burn where you put it, unless there are trees and other stuff that was growing along and up the wall which was lit up....

Don't take me too serious though, I have never made a matte painting my self although I do consider it right now. I have a Wacom Intus2 A4 on my desk for like half a year which I've never really used yet ;) Time do put it at work...

first thing I have to say is,, speaking for myself , I had difficulties to read the fire on the castle.. I wasent too sure if it was some kind of reflexion
I know that the image is quite monochromatics .. but I will add a touch of color to help the viewer reading.. not much tho

I think it's good the way it is. But yeah, just keep an eye out on your black levels. Other than that, I think you've done a good job on the fire especially.
