My second attempt at matte painting. I was inspired to do this after watching an almost isolated "patch" of wood in the middle of Lisbon, my city. It did not seem like a park and so made it even more misterious. I really love Lisbon and this is a tribute to those romantic parks you find in cities where time seems to stand still and one can relax and forget the world around us. But what makes it even more enchanting is the ever present skyline of the city, far away, that reminds us of where we really are.
Here's to you Lisbon...
About the painting process. I started from a photo I had taken in the afternoon and went on from there. Gradually I started adding other elements, both photographed and painted. The light direction changed over the process and the whole ambience aquired a different feel. In the end almost everything was painted dropping the original photographed elements.
