Hi guys,

Here's a digital painting I created this weekend in a few hours.
No photo elements are included. I painted it at 940x470 just so I could
work quickly. Anyway, here it is:

If I down size this image some of my loose brush strokes are
less visible.. which is nice, but I figured I'd leave it at original size for you.

Sorry for a double post in the Artist Showcase, as it says
final work only. I thought my first post was going to be final
but I got anxious. I had a color burn layer added to the first
image shown, and wasn't sure if it was hurting or helping. Here's
the painting minus the color burn, at full size and half size.
Comments and criticism are welcome.

I took some video capture while painting some details on this but it
was so close to the finish line that it's just niks and scratches.

Is this painting interesting? Is it a hit or a miss?
Do I need to spend more time on it to smooth out loose areas?
Let's discuss. :)

hmm thats a difficult one. I think the painting seems to have more depth with the colour burn layer as the far mountains are mroe visible, but i think overall the image is neater without it (for some reason).
I can't really give matte painting tips coz im not expert, but that is what i see :D

I think your painting skills are fantastic by the way.
