Hey All!

Wanted to post these for a while, just been so busy:P

Part of a series of mattes done for Ubisoft's Prince of Persia - The Two Thrones. All projections were done with xsi... water would be replaced in the animations etc. Art directed by Raphael Lacoste.

Cheers!

Really incredible work Dan.

I liked watching the breakdown movie on your website too.

What drink is the bottletop from? I think I need some.

hey carbonmatter,

Well done! These are outstanding, I really enjoy the mood and angle of the first one. Was the architecture geometry, all painted or photo manipulation?

Thanks for sharing man!

Hey guys, thanks for the positive feedback - much appreciated!

lightwell: Thanks man! Lol, yeah that Jones cola really changed my life:P These days it's Red Bull as the work is piling on - but that's a good thing!

XDreamer79: Thx! Yeah, Ubisoft is fantastic - working with Raf Lacoste and Ben Ladouceur and crew was awesome!

SquarePixel: Hey dude! Architecture was often basic geometry, but when you wanted to add stuff in, you just painted it up... you can see some of it on the reel on my site if you want.

Cheers
Dan

Dan,

Beautiful work! I recently checked out your work on your site. Awesome stuff! I really hope to learn a lot from you and Tim. Are you thinking of submitting anything for the d'artiste Concept Art book?

Thanks Tobiasth - that's a compliment! - though these are more stylized for the cinematic...

Hey Raf:P
Thanks! Yeah, I've been trying to get that first one to show up in the CGSociety forums for over a week now, but there has been some problem their admins are working on... so hopefully it'll make it soon.

I would love to work with you guys again - congrats on all the CGChoice awards too - awesome! Right now I'm working on several films which are cool... I'll keep you posted.

Cheers!

Nice work Dan! I gotta get me a console and try the game...so much work has gone into it. I haven't bought a gaming system since n64. lol

Any chance you'll be at the Massive Black Workshop in Montreal?
I think i'll be attending pencil in hand. :)

Hey smooth
Thx! As for concept art workshops in Montreal, I'm thinking I might get there for a day or two, but not for the whole thing... nice that its "in the neighbouhood" - ie 5-6 hours away:P

Wow Dan! Really impressive. I was eager to see your Prince of Persia stuff. You worked quick (because of short deadlines) but so good! Nice work.

Do you know if you'll be able to show your Artwork from Intelligent Creatures one day or it's against the rules of this compagny?

I am just curious.

Hey Fred, thanks a lot! And I don't think there is any problem showing stuff from IC - they are good that way - I'd just be sure to clear it with them first.
