This is an image that I quickly made for my graduation reel, it's is not finished mainly because I ran out of time, I need to integrate the buildings as well as tidy up some things, lastly I need some water reference, I live in AZ though so unless I go north I have no rivers near me. I think the left half of the painting is finished with the exception of more detail on the canyon/ plain intergration.

I'm looking for C & C as far as composition I know its lacking somwhere, color as well, and your general impressions. There is a quick breakdown of layers on my demo reel at www.blurred-pixels.com (http://www.blurred-pixels.com) as well as a moving water fall. Thx

Just an FYI most of the images are from www.imageafter.com (http://www.imageafter.com) I had no photos when I started. I now have a Nikon D50 as well as upgraded from a 4x5 graphire to a 6x8 Intuos 3 so I won't have to use anyone elses stock pics and maybe paint better too.

hmm, your perspective looks wrong for me, the main left side of the image.
and the waterfall looks wrong too ... there is no line between the cliff and the water ... you know what i mean ?
the river ... hmm ... i would rework the way your river goes! looks bad.

totally agree with tobiasth, you have use a wrong perspective.

I used perspective lines to create the mass of terrain, thought the orginal rought sketch did not have them. Can you be more specific about what you are seeing, I'm not sure what you mean. I plan on reworking the river the minute I can go up north and get water reference.
