very nice colors and perspective. nice mood i like it !... hmm just one thing.. is the tree and stoned river falls area (black section) too much black? :) sorry for my english..

yes, very nice

I've modified the light's source a little bit and adjusted the pallette. I've also given a more detailed shape to the rock and to the underlying forest.
Let me now if you have some hints :D

Hi Echo,

Nice painting, though I think the original image was more interesting than the revision. The color palette in the original seemed bolder and the quality of the digital brushwork was less fussy and worked over

My two cents.

thank you for the hints, I'll keep them in mind. In these days I've got no time to work on this one, but yesterday I managed to go a little further.
There are a lot of things to do yet...

let me know if you have something to say about this new version.

I've sketched some brushstrokes to help me reach a better pallette.

What are the lines going across the water? Is that supposed to show a waterfall/drop in water lefvel? It looks a little strange.

the foreground and the river (and the horizon line as well) are yet to be done, what you see is still a sketch.
Other than that? I'm not totally happy with the light, if you have hints to share you're welcome. :D

I think this one looks a lot better, I wait for your critics and comments ;)

I really like the mood of this piece. Great work so far, although the water still seems a little strange to me. If it's a waterfall we're looking over (looking at the drop from behind) wouldn't there be mist? Or am I not interpreting the image correctly?

For today I stop here, the water is still unfinished... I'm looking for a better shading.
Other parts still lack details.

this is awesome.. it came from nowhere !

Wow this really does look fantastic!
I love the way it has evolved from your first sketches, but you have kept to the mood and general idea, i think that shows great artistic ability.

My only crit would be that the peak of the mountain looks semi-transparent. I know that you are trying to replicate the light values on the mountain, but for some reason it just seems to look transparent. I know that is not very constructive criticism as i can't even put my finger on exactly why it doesn't look right, but it does draw my attention.

Anyway, i can't wait to see the final, final painting that you come up with coz it already looks stunning! Great work so far.

Oh and i forgot to mention, i really love the enw rock that you put into the bottom left corner, it gives the painting a bit more sense of scale; works really well :D

hey echos are you painting in the rock texture and water and stuff in photoshop? If so its amaizng and would like to know how you obtained this skill.(diff methods and brushes, cloning from real rock pictures etc.)

Yeah, this is awesome!!! I love the composition and the colors.
Maybe you can add some light sunrays, breaking through the clouds behind or above the big rock, like here:

I cant wait for the final version, too!
Great work!

Yes, I already did that :D
I miss to show you the last update.

The shape of the mountain is different too.

Perfect! :D

But i think the left foreground of the rock is a little bit, too bright.
