Set Extension Matte Painting - from Redemption

Original Plate was shot with a DVX-100 16:9 24p
All modern elements (cars, roads, powerlines, etc...) had to be painted out & the distant mountians were added

Redemption is a independent (student led) feature film currently in post phase of production. Written & Directed by Collins College film student, Robert Conway - www.galleryfilms.net (http://www.galleryfilms.net) - Redemption is a western that had a unique approach to filmming. Shot on HDV & DV 24p 16:9, the look of the film is being managed by students working out the various color grading for each sequence. Trying to take advantage of all the stuff we could do in post allowed us to proceed in trying to make the film appear as epic as the script had intended. These are some early test composites from the film. We are currently working on several matte painting, set extensions, rig removal, paint & particle fx and even some green screen actors & practicals. The coolest part, the students are handling majority of the production. Check back for the Redemption trailer soon!

any comments or feedback would be great!
