Hey guys. Like everyone else i'm new at this "matte painting" thing and i'd like a few opinions. This matte is my first attempt to see how far i could get on just brushes. This has taught me how ridiculously important good references are. Anyway, here goes:

The water and birds are part of the plate.

Good composition.
I suggest adding some contrast with white highlights and tiny glow effect.
Also bringing back some white to the foam in the actual plate.

I cant say that I agree with Alik. I feel the composition needs more work. Also the value range is pretty flat. That said it won't take uch to make this painting really nice. Looks like you have a very good start just need the last 5 percent!
