ohh how the dark master blesses his minions --->
I just got the Wacom cintiq 21ux -
this is a must for all painters - ive been using the intuos 2 and 3 for the past 4 years and the cintiq 21 ux makes them both seem archaic -
its a bit pricey but its worth it - no more delay between pen and monitor and its rotation functions mimic a traditional drawing surface. I highly recommend this to any painters out there. but be warned, its addictive.
if any members have had any issues or input on the cintiq drop a line in this thread to spread the word ......

So you're pretty happy with it then? A better option than a tablet pc laptop?
I've been thinking about saving for one myself. May take me a while to save enough though.

Wow, I have the Intuos 2 and having a fun time with it. Is the Citque a monitor? I would looove one of em. But the 1799 and 2999 price tags will hold me back for a while. I am also wondering... Is there a way to turn my Laptop into a tablet PC? I know a lil bit about how the touchscreens work, and I would love to take my new latop with me to school and practice my drawing/painting on downtime... I have worked with touch screen displays before on a school project but just didnt know if they had any sortof add on for a laptop.
we have one in our office
its awesome for painting I agree
but resolution and color display accuracy is prety poor

the color display and calibration are an issue, but i have a dual monitor set up and its fairly easy to kick it over to my calibrated monitor and fix any color issues then kick it back and keep painting.
it really comes down to how much painting and drawing you actually do while working, if your creating a painting from photos and doing minimal painting and sketch work, then the intuos should be a good set up. Now that I have the cintiq however ive found myself doing a lot more painting and sketching than before just because it feels more natural than with the intuos.

more info on the cintiq 21 ux -
i learned from a co worker that you can use the cintiq 21 ux and the inuos 3 together - this is a really cool feature when using dual monitor set up - before i had to always go back to my mouse when windows launched apps in my second monitor - now i just use the same stylus and bounce right over to my intous 3 - its a really cool workflow - i didnt know that they both worked together - i thought i would share the wealth
