I created this image for a tutorial I did for the new magazine Imagine FX. I hope it is well received and that it is useful for people. The tutorial is targeted at beginners and walks the reader from sketch to final.
It was all done in Photoshop and took about 40 hours or so to complete. Hope you like it.
Credit needs to be given to Dylan Cole and Yanick Dusseault whose techniques have heavily influenced the way I work. In reviewing this tutorial you will notice that many of the steps that I use are techniques that both of these artists use in their instructional DVDs. To get a far better description of how to use these techniques then what I have communicated in this tutorial I highly recommend picking up the instructional DVDs that both artists have to offer.

LOL, ah, sorry, I didn't check the date of the post.
Very nice work. I checked out your website. Great stuff. I have a long way to go before I can do anything even close to your work but hey, the fun is in the learning.
Are you currently working on anything we might know about?

How are things in the great white north? I've not been on line much lately. Still don't have internet in the new place. Hopefully soon.

things in the great white north are soggy and wet with an 80% of flurries tonight. Hope you get the internet soon and can check out some of the new work! How're things south of the equator? Have you seen the southern cross yet?

hot and there are lots of spiders? I've not seen the Southern Cross but There is a Saint Andrews cross spinning a large web out side my kitchen window. I'm told they aren't deadly! Good times!
