Wow, after seeing some of the stuff you people do on here, this is going to look like crap, but ahh well, here goes... :D

This is just a background for a little animation thing i am working on to test my skills with and i was just wondering what i could do to it to make it look a bit better. It was done from scratch with my tablet in Photoshop.

open google.com, search: creepy basement, paint over some blood in photoshop and here you go :D

i thought about doing that, but the image is not supposed to look 100% photorealistic. Granted i suppose i could take a photo of a basement and paint over it to make it look semi-cartoonish...

It’s a start.
Try to put a light source in the scene and give it more contrast with sharper highlight and shadows.
Take a look at Craig Mullins paintings...

i think,

you get better results and better render if you use textures?!!?? to help the realism to come....i say thaht because its very difficult to mimic reality without using photos.... :) then go on.... :)

Ps: its not an advice....because im drawing too bad too...... :wink:
