PhotoShop and Tablet

I was wondering if everyone in the matte world uses a tablet. I have no table would that make my work out of place and suck badly ?

I couldn't imagine trying to work without a tablet. But my
background is in traditional art. There's one guy posting on
here who's doing some pretty nice paintings with a mouse,
but I can't fathom how he's doing it. Anything's possible.
